What do you two do?

Patrick is in medical school at Indiana University Medical School—South Bend. Marie is a graphic designer who works for the University of Notre Dame's branding agency and teaches a senior-level design class at the University.

How did you two meet?

We were next door neighbors. We met when Patrick stopped by to borrow Marie's lawnmower, but we really started hanging out after a Halloween party at Marie's house.

How did he propose?

We went cross-country skiing at Bertrand Park in Michigan, not too far north of Notre Dame's campus. Despite the half-melted snow, Patrick was oddly adament about following through with this skiing adventure. After a brisk walk, we stumbled upon some great trails. Marie wandered up to the top of a hill, and that is where Patrick popped the question. It was a beautiful, wintery proposal followed by a fancy dinner to celebrate.

Who is that dog in your pictures?

His name is Bodhi. He's a beagle mixed with some unknown large-ish dog.

When is the wedding?

It's November 7, 2015!

Where will it be?

It's in and around Lafayette, LA—the heart of cajun country.

What is your favorite food?

Patrick's is rum cake and Marie's is macaroni and cheese.

What is your date-night go-to?

Vietnamese food at Creasian in South Bend: spring rolls, lemongrass chicken, and tofu pho. Super predictable. The wait staff even knows it's us when we call for pick-up.

What are your hobbies?

We both play-around with music and enjoy wood-working and metal-working. Patrick is great with pottery and can build just about anything while Marie likes to draw and is getting into hand-lettering and calligraphy. We both love being active: running, rock-climbing, yoga, dancing, biking, etc.

Do you ever play music together?

Yes. Patrick plays guitar and sings while Marie plays drum, sings, and can sort of pick her way through three songs on the banjo. We have big dreams for an open-mic night one of these days.
